Eating refined and processed foods will have adverse effect on your gums. Artificial sweeteners aspartame and those containing high fructose like corn syrup affect your gums and weaken your immune system. Low immune system makes you more vulnerable to gum infection.
Include vegetables, fruits, whole grains and organic meat in your diet. You can get the friendly bacteria, probiotics by taking organic yogurt containing natural sugar. Food intolerances cause problem in absorption of nutrients which results in gum diseases. Diets that cause food intolerance are dairy, wheat, citrus fruits, gluten, corn, shellfish and nuts. Eliminate the culprit food that causes food intolerance.
When your body absorbs all nutrients, you can get healthy gums. Avoid snack items that sticks to your gum and teeth. It includes chocolates, biscuits, cakes, chips and raisins.
